Privacy policy
Effective 2026-10-19.
IIoT Studio is a desktop app that runs on your computer. It has no account and no telemetry, and the project runs no server that the app talks to. We don’t collect, store, sell or share any personal information.

What stays on your computer
- Connections: the connections you save, including names, sites, hosts, ports, endpoint URLs, serial port settings, SSH tunnel settings, OPC UA security settings and MQTT client settings, are stored on your computer. Connection and project files never hold a password. Saved passwords and key passphrases go to your system’s credential store (Windows Credential Manager, macOS Keychain, or Secret Service on Linux). A password is sent only to the server, broker or SSH host it belongs to.
- Certificates: the app’s own OPC UA certificate and private key, and the server certificates you trust or reject, are kept in a certificate store on your computer. MQTT TLS certificates and keys are read from the files you point a connection at.
- Your devices, servers and brokers: the app talks only to the Modbus devices, gateways and serial adapters, the OPC UA servers and the MQTT brokers you set up, the SSH servers you route connections through, and its built-in simulators if you start them. It reads, writes, calls methods, acknowledges alarms, subscribes and publishes only when you ask it to.
- Projects and recordings: project files, register maps, watch lists, topic maps, CSV exports and recordings are saved only where you choose.
- Log file: the app writes a log of its own warnings and errors to your computer, to help diagnose problems. It never contains register values, payloads, passwords or passphrases. It is never sent anywhere, and you can delete it at any time. A crash writes a report next to it, with your home folder written as
~; it stays on your computer too.
